When profit is more important than safety

By admin | February 1, 2012

Most businesses, if they are honest about it, are really mainly focused on making a profit. Upper management will usually go with what makes the company more money over shelling out more money to keep the workplace safe. Although they are mandated by law to provide a safe working environment some companies commit money to give their workers the barest minimum safety precautions. Some companies will even decide to ignore certain aspects of safety at work because it may cost a lot. In this case it is only a matter of time before an accident happens. The worker injured at work is not defenseless though. There are workers compensation laws that also require every company to give them workers compensation insurance.
