The Nocebo Effect

Did you know that by convincing yourself that you have a disease, you can give yourself that disease? Yes, this is not science fiction. The opposite of the placebo effect is referred to as the “nocebo” effect. This effect has been proven by Oxford scientists. Apparently, this nocebo pain actually shows up in an MRI scan. How do you protect yourself from a pain that you cause? I honestly have no idea. In the food plant design industry, the experts avoid issues by making sure that we don’t cause ourselves pain. If you do your research, you can make sure that you don’t shoot yourself in the foot!
